Thank you (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer)

Only one colour combo left at the OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer. ;-) I really, really enjoyed the challenge this month and played several times and used all other colour combos at least once.

This time I used the last missing Shades of Summer #4:

This is my first autumn themed card in 2014. But as it seems that summer is already over here, well - why not?

Stamp is from an old Hostess Set by Stampin Up. Coloured the image with Distress inks and a wet paint brush. I really like the effect the Distress ink made. It is a very soft watercolour look.

Supplies:
Stamp: Stampin Up - A little Bit of Happiness (Hostess-Set, discontinued)
Ink Pads:
Memento - Tuxedo Black,
Distress - Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo
Water fillable Paint brush - Kuretake

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a nice day, happy stamping!

Leaves

Ok, short brake from the OLS challenge :-) Don't know if there is a limit how many cards someone can publish. But I don't want to tax Susan's (and the other girls') patience...

So here is a card with more than one layer:

I used an old Hero Arts palm tree / leave stamp. Stamped it with turqoise pigment ink and with Versamark. Embossed it with a holografic embossing powder which changes the colour (depends on how long you heat set it).

The sentiment is german and means "good luck".

Technically it is a four layered card :-)

Supplies:
Stamps: HeroArts - leave, Heindesign (german company) - sentiment
Embossing Powder: JudiKins
Punches: Stampin Up
paper: noname

Have a nice day, happy stamping

Congratulations

Of course I still do stamping other cards than for the OLS challenge, too. :-)

But to be honest the August theme of the OLS has inspired me really, really a lot.

So, this card won't fulfill the rules of the OLS, because it has TWO layers, but the colour combo is inspired by the "Shades of Summer #3" (which was my most favourite of all).

I was in need of another birthday card so I made this one:

This time I combined different stamp companies and inks. They fit nicely together. Just think outside the box. Not necessary to use only products of ONE company (at least when you don't work as a DT member or SU-Demo).

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin Up (flower), Hero Arts (chevron), MSE (sentiment)
Ink: Stampin Up, Distress, Memento
Rhinestones: noname
Punch: Stampin Up

Have a great day, happy stamping

Smile (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer - card #8)

Only two colour combinations of the OLS challenge are left. This time I used Shades of Summer #6:

The german sentences means "The shortest distance between two people is a smile".

I really love this quote and it is soo true. With a (real) smile on your face you can reach so many people.

For the flourish stamp I used River Rock, an old discontinued ink pad. It is a very soft grayish-green colour and matches so perfectly with the light turqoise. Added some rhinestones for an additional bling :-)

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin Up "Barocke Motive" (english set name "Baroque Motifs"), unknown (german sentiment)
Ink: Stampin Up Sage Shadow and River Rock, Memento Tuxedo Black
Rhinestones: noname

Have a great day, happy stamping

Love (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer - card #7)

Only three colour combinations of the OLS challenge are left. This time I used Shades of Summer #1:

This is a non standard size card. It is a little bit smaller than our usual "A6" card. Sizes are about 12 x 10,5 cm (4 3/4 x 4 1/8 inch).

The german sentences means "Love embellish the Life". To get all images in the right spot I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I used a dark turqoise colour for the sentiment and a lighter turqoise colour for the border stamp and added some bling with two super tiny rhinestones.

All things I used are discontinued, sorry!

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin Up "Zeitlos" (english set name "Vintage Vogue"?!)
Ink: Stampin Up Sage Shadow and Blue Bayou (my alltime favourite of all SU colours)
Rhinestones: noname

Have a great day, happy stamping

Flowers (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer - card #6)

And here is one more card I made for the OLS challenge. This time I used Shades of Summer #5:

This card is #2 I made with this stamp set. In this case I used the Flower stamp correctly so they looks like flowers instead of grapes like on the last card. Usually these flamingo-orange-pale colours aren't my favourite ones. But I really like how they turn out. Especially in combination with this nice green.

Supplies:
Stamps:Woodware
Ink: Memento
Alcohol markers: Rotbart Delta Markers

Have a great day, happy stamping

Grapes (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer - card #5)

And another card I made for the OLS challenge. This time I used Shades of Summer #2:

Sorry, the card is really dark. It is raining the whole day and I wasn't able to use natural light settings. Sigh!

This card is one of two. In this case I used the Flower stamp upside down and try to make some grapes out of it. Ok, the leaves don't match perfectly but it is a nice way to stretch your stamps :-)

Supplies:
Stamps:Woodware
Ink: Memento
Alcohol markers: Rotbart Delta Markers (green), Pantone Tria (gray).

Have a great day, happy stamping

Butterfly (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer - card #4)

And another card I made for the OLS challenge. Again using the Shades of Summer #3:

I really love these blueprint stamps by Tim Holtz! I have a few of these stamps but don't use them often. I think for a CAS card there is too much in this image and for a non-CAS card I need to fill the outer space of the card base. Such a dilemma...

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampers Anonymus Tim Holtz Collection  (easter blueprints & simple sayings)
Ink: Memento
Alcohol markers: Rotbart Delta Markers (coloured ones), Pantone Tria (grey one).

Have a great day, happy stamping

Travel (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer card #3)

And here is card #3 I made for the OLS#8 challenge. Again I used the colour combo Shades of Summer #3:

I coloured around the main image with a very light grey alcohol marker to create some depth. So even it is a one layered card it doesn't look too flat..

Card is for a friend who is going on a vacation soon.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampers Anonymus Tim Holtz Collection
Ink: Memento
Alcohol markers: Rotbart Delta Markers (coloured ones), Pantone Tria (grey one).

Have a great day, happy stamping

Get well (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer card #2)

And here is another card I made for the OLS#8 challenge. This time I tried the colour combo "Shades of Summer #5":

One more card for the "get well" basket.

Sorry - the colours seem a little bit splotchy. I made this photo just in the second after I finished colouring. Wasn't patient to let the alcohol markers dry :-) My family - ds, dd and my mom are waiting for me - lake swimming is calling us :-)

After a few minutes they really softened and now they look really smooth. Maybe I will replace the photo later.

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Smooches
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black
Alcohol markers: Delta Rotbart

Have a great day, happy stamping

Caught a Bug? (OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer card #1)

Today the new OLS Challenge released and oh... this is so wonderful. Even it is so early in the morning and I haven't any coffee yet I need to participate right NOW :-)

For my first card I decided to use the colour combo Shades of Summer #3:

Love it!

During the summer season many people caught a bug. I think this is a result of these many air conditioners.

So I wanted to have some "get well" cards on hand.

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Smooches
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black
Alcohol markers: Delta Rotbart

Have a great day, happy stamping
